This edition of Meet Your Neighbor will highlight The McLean Family. I was lucky enough to meet Michelle at our monthly book club and quickly learned what a great addition she and her adorable family are to our community. Nick, Michelle, their children Charlie (4), Mady (3) and dog Ella have lived in Parkville since November 2015. Nick works in private equity and Michelle is a nurse practitioner at KU Med. When they aren’t working, you can always find them spending quality time with their family out and about in the neighborhood or exploring new areas.

Both Nick and Michelle have lived all over the country, from California to Florida. Originally, Nick is from St. Joseph, Missouri and Michelle from western Kansas.  They currently live in Cider Mill at the National and are in the process of building their second home in the neighborhood. They say that aside from a lot of their family being in this area, they love English Landing Park and the Nature Sanctuary. Four year old Charlie says, and I tend to agree, that his favorite thing about Parkville is all the cats and dogs.

While on the subject of cats and dogs, it’s important to note that Nick, Michelle, Charlie and Mady aren’t the only ones loving living in Parkville. The McLean’s dog Ella even has a best friend. Her best friend is the neighbor dog, Chief. Every morning Chief comes outside and gives a morning bark at the fence and Ella responds with an excited yelp, then rushes out her doggy door to say hello in person. They have even removed part of their fence so they can play whenever they want. It’s not uncommon for the McLean’s to see Chief’s head sticking through their doggy door.

Parkville is lucky to have this family as part of their community. Not only are they great neighbors and friends, Michelle has spent the past year working front lines helping to keep people in our area safe and healthy. Make sure to say hello and thank you when you see them around.
